Description

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Cracking IAS exam candidates becomes a part of Government Machinery. IAS gives an equal opportunity to every candidate for appearing this exam. It is considered to be the most challenging entrance exam in India.

Eligibility criteria:-

• Candidate should be a citizen of India.
• Candidate must have bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized College/ University.
• Age Limit – 21 to 30 years
• Candidate must be physically and medically fit.

IAS Exam Preparation Tips:-

Exam Syllabus

IAS 2014 Pattern:-

The entrance exam of IAS comprises of three stages:-

• Preliminary exam (written)
• Main exam (written and interview)
• Interview

Preliminary exam is conducted in May which comprises of two papers each of 200 marks:

Paper 1: General Studies
Paper 2: Aptitude Skills

Main examination is conducted in October/ November which comprises of seven papers:

Paper 1: One of the Indian languages chosen from the prescribed list
Paper 2: English
Paper 3: Essay
Paper 4: Optional subject 1
Paper 5: Optional subject 1
Paper 6: Optional subject 2
Paper 7: Optional subject 2

Interview is conducted in March/ April.
